2016 Christmas Tree Festival Best Yet

Christmas Tree

Our 6th annual Christmas Tree Festival held at the end of November raised an amazing £2500 – an increase of over £300 on last year's figure – and attracted record numbers of visitors over the two day event to view the 40 amazing trees on display. After the votes were counted, the most popular tree was the entry by the Guides entitled Win-Tree. In second place came Rob Skinner with his ingenious Christmas Trea-Pot, third were the Fleckney Barbers with Tree Cutting and Karen Preston was fourth with Wishing you a Quacking Christmas. The weekend was rounded off by a well-attended short service ‘Looking forward to Christmas'.

Our thanks to our major sponsors Greyfriars Asset Management LLP, Thomas White (Leicester) Ltd and UK Distributors (Footwear) Ltd for their generous financial support, and to Fiona Cairns Ltd for the kind donation of the fabulous traditional iced Christmas cake.

Thanks also to all the organisers and setters uppers. Also those who donated raffle and tombola prizes, helped with the event over the weekend, or who entered trees and of course everyone who stopped by to view the festival.

We do hope you enjoyed yourselves and look forward to seeing you again in 2017.
